Daphine Priscilla Brown-Jack

Daphine Priscilla Brown-Jack is from Houston, Texas. She is a retired Parole Officer, Parole and Author Consultant, Private Investigator, Author, Inspirational Speaker, Podcast Host “If Emmett Was Alive Today Podcast” and the Founder and CEO of Prevention Zone Inc. Prevention Zone Inc is a non-profit organization.  Daphine has been speaking for over 25 years.  She taught Sixth Grade Social Studies for four years.  She was the speaker for the Prison Entrepreneurship for a few years, Ultimate Women Expo 2016, the keynote speaker at the Texas Voices Annual Conference 2016, North Harris County Criminal Justice Association, presenter at Prisoner's Family Conference 2019 and has spoken at other local conferences.   She has served as panelists at various conferences.  She has been a guest on radio show Conscious Mindset KPFT 90.1FM, BlogTalkRadio Show with Funky Writer, Source Nation with Kathy B., Janeane Bernstein with Get the Funk Out Radio Show, Gospel Radio Nation with Dr. Lorelle Strong Rich Show, Real Talk with Dr. Lisa Talley on Rhema Gospel Radio KOER 101.5FM, Life is Not Complicated, You Are Podcast with Carlos Wallace, and the latest Movers and Shakers Show   She has appeared in the February 2016 issue of Women of Distinction Magazine She has host and emceed many church and secular events as well as being a DJ on internet radio.  Daphine also has performed in local stage plays.

Daphine has various topics she speak about and enjoy speaking to women, men and youth.  She can articulate her expertise on parole and the criminal justice system (plea bargaining, bonding, court procedures, etc.). Some of her latest topics are “Keeping Life Simple”, “Face Your Fears, Accept your Fears, and Move Around”, just to name a few.

She wrote her first book titled, “The Other Side of the Story”.  It was published April 9, 2015.  On September 28, 2017 Earthshine Media announced that “The Other Side of the Story” has been named a Winner in the John E Weaver Excellent Reads Award for Non-Fiction: Inspiration.

​

She currently volunteers for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Houston Art Festival and the Social Media Ambassador for the Mayor’s Office of Special Events.  She is a member of the Non-Fiction Writers, Story Circle Network, Houston Writers Guild, North Harris County Criminal Justice Association, the Academy of Criminal Science and was a mentor for Pass the Torch and a former member of Triple “D” Society Club.

She earned a B. S. in Public Affairs with a concentration in Administration of Justice and a Master’s in Public Administration both from Texas Southern University and Certification in Nonprofit Management from  Texas A & M-College Station. Daphine also have a certificate from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for Bully Prevention.  Daphine enjoy astronomy, traveling, different genre of music, stage plays, and enjoying life. Daphine is a wife and mother of four children two boys and two girls.  Three live in Texas and one live in Oregon.
